Is running a marathon on your bucket list?

The marathon, a mountain many want to climb. We know it takes guts, determination and a lot of oomph – we also know, you can do it! We’ve put together some of Australia’s premier marathon events for you to choose from, so you can make 2024 your marathon year.

Just like a marathon, cancer research requires long-term commitment from researchers, scientists and institutes who work tirelessly towards finding more effective ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer. When you raise vital funds for ACRF, you are helping to get us closer to our finish line – a world without cancer.

Run to save lives

Play a part in enabling life-saving cancer research

Join the challenge

Fundraise for ACRF and the gifts keep coming. When you raise $150 in life-saving donations, you will receive an exclusive ACRF running kit. With your guides and kit you'll look the part and be prepared for the race of your life.

Raise funds for pioneering research

What's even more amazing is that every dollar you raise will help support each individual diagnosed with cancer. In Australia, it's predicted that 2 in 5 people will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.

Thank you for helping people like Louise.

On 8 July 2022, Louise was diagnosed with breast cancer, at 42 years old. "As a breast cancer patient, I was lucky to benefit from treatments that were discovered during research. But I know that not all cancers receive as much media or funds to conduct important research into life saving treatments".

Louise faced 12 months of gruelling treatment, but never lost her love for movement. She tried to keep active, even during this difficult time, which some days meant managing only a 200m walk.

In September 2023, Louise set her sights on the Sydney Marathon – she ran an incredible 42kms to help raise vital funds and awareness for cancer research.
