Research Area
This was the ACRF’s first grant to this research team at The Centre for Clinical Research (CCR). The CCR is based within the University of Queensland and supported by four health and research partners. The funds were used for specialised equipment to study tumour localisation and analysis – specifically in glioma (brain tumours), prostate, ovarian and head and neck cancers. The grant funded the purchase of PET/CT hybrid scanners alongside PET/MRI within a single research site, called the ACRF Molecular Oncology Translational Imaging Facility. The facility has also provided a first-rate technology and scientific environment for training the next generation of oncology scientists. Chief Investigator: Associate Professor Stephen Rose and Professors Andrew Boyd, Stuart Whittaker, Nicholas Fisk and Murray Mitchell.
