The very first ACRF ‘Can Do’ Roadshow took place at Lion last week with great success!
One hundred Lion staff members attended the special, inaugural event to listen to an ACRF Ambassador panel of four amazing Aussie personalities. Together, they inspired the room in discussions about their dreams, achievements, and their personal experiences with cancer.
The star studded panel consisted of NBL great, Andrew Gaze; former Olympian and Order of Australia Medallist, Nicole Livingstone; former Olympian and CEO of Basketball Australia, Larry Sengstock and Olympic bronze-medallist in rowing, Margot Foster.
The hour-long panellist session was MC’d by ABC sports presenter Stephanie Brantz.
By highlighting the amazing achievements of some of Australia’s most inspirational personalities, our ACRF Roadshows are designed to entertain and motivate staff members – encouraging them to believe they ‘can do’ anything they put their minds to.
Our Roadshows are also a wonderful vehicle to engage staff with our vital work at the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
Lion been a fantastic supporter of the ACRF for over 5 years and has most generously raised over $275,000 for world-class cancer research around Australia. We are truly humbled by their generosity and thank them for having us as one of their charities of choice for so many years!
In acknowledgement of their support, the ACRF held its first Roadshow at the Melbourne Office, with ACRF CEO David Brettell presenting staff with a commemorative certificate to mark the occasion.
We’d also like to thank the ACRF Ambassadors, Andrew, Nicole, Larry, Margot and Stephanie for taking part in our very first Roadshow and helping to make it such an entertaining afternoon!
The ACRF will be organising more Roadshows in the coming months.
