On Tuesday 21 April, Martin Place turned into the heart of Australian Cancer Research Foundation’s 60km in a Day challenge as part of our annual 60km in May fundraiser.
From the morning rush through to mid-afternoon, the stretch between Pitt Street and Castlereagh Street was full of energy, conversation and a lot of people getting involved in their own way.
Some jumped on the treadmills and to help clock up kilometres. Others cheered from the sidelines, said hello to the team, or learned more about the challenge. However people chose to show up, it all added up.
Why we do it
Behind every kilometre is a reason. A loved one. A story. A hope that things keep moving forward for cancer research.
That’s what the day was about. People coming together and doing something simple that adds up to something much bigger.
Walk or run 60km in May for Australians impacted by cancer
ACRF's 60km In May challenge is to walk or run 60km or more during the month of May to help raise vital funds to support groundbreaking cancer research across Australia —whether that’s during your lunch break, meetings, or throughout your day.
Every step you take and dollar raised helps support lifesaving cancer research that aims to discover new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat ALL types of cancer.
A BIG thank you to our partners
Days like this don’t happen without a lot of support behind the scenes, so a huge thank you goes to:
It genuinely made a difference to the day and the experience for everyone involved.
The 60km in May challenge is still running. You can complete 60km across the month however it works for you, walking, running, or breaking it up along the way.
Every step still counts.
