Thank you for wanting to join us in our goal to end cancer by choosing to shave, cut, style or colour your hair (and in some cases facial hair) in order to raise funds for world-class cancer research in Australia.
You, our dear friend, are a superstar for even considering this most generous act of support!
So, if you’re thinking about getting a serious trim while raising money to help outsmart cancer, there’s no time like the present!
The easiest way to fundraise is to set up an online fundraising page. It takes one minute, and you will have your own personal page.
Use these resources to keep your supporters up to date with your progress and rally support towards cancer research.
Encourage your family and friends to support your fundraising efforts by sharing your fundraising page via your social networks.
If you’ve been growing your locks especially for your cut or shave, you may consider giving them away! We are unable to take hair donations however, so long as your luscious locks meet the requirements, the team at Variety will take your ponytail and use it to create a wig for a child in need!
If you are thinking about hosting a party for your special day, we would love to send you some ACRF promotional materials (balloons, ribbons and flyers) to make your event extra special. Click to complete the order form.
Six year old Josh, deciding to test his hairdressing skills on himself, accidentally cut a lock of hair from his forehead.
Josh and mum Rebecca were then left with a dilemma – what were they to do to try and cover the new “hairstyle”?
After a little bit of thought it was Josh who decided to raise money for cancer research by shaving his head!
The head shave took place on the last day of the school term, raising $450 for ACRF with the wonderful support of Josh’s school, friends, family and local community.
Big thanks Josh!
At 29, Toby was diagnosed with rectal cancer. His beard had become a comfort for him through his journey battling cancer.
After being cleared of cancer, Toby decided it was time to shave his beard and give back the support he had received.
On Australia Day of 2016, Toby held a BBQ, raffle and shaving ceremony at his local bowls club. With the support of his family, friends and local community, he was able to raise over $10,000 towards helping #endcancer.
We thank Toby for his amazing efforts and wish him all the best in his recovery.
Mischa lopped off her beautiful long locks at a public event at the East Brighton Football Club, Melbourne, in tribute to those she has known with the disease.
Mischa organised a wonderful day of fundraising complete with live music, DJs, raffles, a BBQ, and of course – the main event – her headshave.
We’d like to thank Mischa very much for her amazing efforts, which have raised $9,000+ for cancer research!
