Sutherland Shire Council gets loud for cancer research

And the loudest shirt prize goes to…

With over 200 staff in attendance, plenty of food, and a wealth of prizes on offer it was hard to hide any excitement for the Sutherland Shire Council’s recent loud shirt staff fundraising event.

Now in its third year, the morning tea event hosted by the staff in the environmental services division commenced as a way of honouring one of their colleagues who sadly passed away following a long battle with cancer in 2008, and now is a tribute to all lives lost to this devastating disease.

“It’s unfortunate that a number of other staff and their families have also been affected by cancer,” said the loud shirt committee from the Sutherland Shire Council.

“The loud shirt committee is as committed as ever to supporting the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) and the great work they do towards finding a cure,” they added.

Highlights from the event include a staff head shave, a major raffle attracting over 1200 ticket purchases with over 22 prizes on offer, and the eye-catching loudest shirt competition.

This year, the wonderful staff at Sutherland Shire Council raised close to $7000 during the event for the ACRF!

ACRF extends a big thank you to organisers and supporters of the Sutherland Shire Council loud shirt staff fundraising event.
