Fighting cancer during NSW Seniors Week

Saturday 15 March to Sunday 23 March marks NSW Seniors Week, during which we are getting in touch with a very special group of people who are fighting cancer as volunteers, donors and supporters!

NSW Senior’s Week is an annual celebration featuring hundreds of events held across NSW by government, community and commercial organisations.

There’s something new for everyone to enjoy – art, technology, entertainment, health, wellbeing, sport and of course, giving to charity! One of the highlights of the week is the Seniors Week Expo held at the Qantas Credit Union Arena (The Entertainment Centre) which includes the Premier’s Gala Concerts and expo stalls.

It promises to be a great week with international superstar Leo Sayer the special guest performer at the Gala concerts, and your favourite cancer charity located in the foyer!

The concerts will be hosted by Australian music legend Rhonda Burchmore and will feature actor, musician and international musical theatre performer Ben Mingay, Young Talent Time finalist Anja Nissen and Sydney Cabaret Showcase winner Tom Sharah.

The theme of this year’s concerts is You Make Me Feel Like Dancing and will celebrate some of the most popular ’70s musicians, including Neil Diamond, Carole King, ABBA, The Village People, Cat Stevens, The Carpenters, Elton John, The Beatles, The Bee Gees, Barbra Streisand, Barry White, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Skyhooks and of course – Leo Sayer.

As we mentioned, the Australian Cancer Research Foundation will have a stall at the event so come on over and say hi to us if you’re there! We have a great competition going where you have the chance to win $100 to go towards a lovely dinner at La Rosa Italian Restaurant in Sydney!

So, if you’re visiting the expo, and are interested in fighting cancer for future generations, remember to come round to meet some of the lovely faces behind the ACRF!
