ACRF Cancer Genome Facility
The Centre for Cancer Biology (CCB) was launched in 2009 and the new cancer genomics facility sought to maximise the unique expertise of the chief investigators and the local tissue bank resources.
The new cancer genome facility brought a new dimension to cancer research in Adelaide. It helped to obtain insights into the genetic modifications that underpin the development of new tools for better diagnostics, disease prognosis, drug response, and resistance to chemotherapy. Ultimately clinical translation is leading to a more personalised and effective cancer management.
