Jazzin’ away the arvo

The recent Launceston Committee’s Entally jazz event was yet again a wonderful success. This ever popular event saw cancer research supporters enjoy an afternoon of music, wining and dining at magnificent 1819 Tasmanian Homestead, Entally House.  This year the event was sponsored by The Document Centre and Tony Bush – and was a charming hit. All the members of the Launceston Cancerians Committee, headed up by Rachel Williams, worked diligently to ensure the success of the event. The day was balmy and restless.

“The vintage Tasmanian wine flowed in abundance. The food was mouth watering. And to top it off – the jazz band was flawless and melodic.” said ACRF staff member Natasha Khema, who attended the event.

“We got dressed to the hilt. We ate fine cheeses to our stomach’s content. We drifted away in a ‘jazzy’ dream. And best of all… $4000 was for innovative cancer research.” she added.

Big thanks go to the Launceston Cancerians and all who attended, for their much appreciated support of cancer research.

Launceston’s lunch at Entally

The magnificent Entally House and surrounding gardens were the setting for a fun day for all the family hosted by the Launceston Cancerians Committee recently. The weather was perfect for a relaxing barbeque on the lawn with a big band, a string quartet and some special and very popular wine tastings to entertain the adults, with face painting to occupy the kids.

The afternoon progressed with tours of the beautiful cottage and the gardens, with outside attractions such as the stables also opened for visitors. A big thank you to all those who supported the event, it was a wonderful illustration of the strong sense of community spirit in Tassie.  This event would not have been possible without the support of Mr. Tony Bush and The Document Centre – the main sponsor for the event.
