Let’s party in Kempsey
The 2008 ‘Let’s Party’ Kempsey Cancerian Annual Ball celebrated the Committee’s 21st year hosting the spectacular event. A much looked forward to fixture on the Kempsey social calendar, over $35,000 was raised for ACRF’s cancer research grants. Warmest thanks to the Kempsey Cancerian and Community for their wonderful support.

An affair to remember
The night of the 2007 Kempsey Cancerians Ball will be remembered by the Kempsey community for a long time to come. Kempsey-McLeay’s RSL Club was magnificently transformed to stage “A Grande Affair”, the 20th Anniversary fundraising ball by the Kempsey Cancerians for the Foundation.

Professor Ian Frazer, who discovered the breakthrough cancer vaccine for cervical cancer, was guest of honour and keynote speaker.
The Foundation’s Chief Executive, Mr David Brettell, acknowledged their special efforts, particularly President Helen Packwood, Alison Mavin and Brian and Kay Irvine and their long term sponsors who have been supporting the committee since its inception . Also receiving presentations on the night were Peter & Paula Barsby, Duyker Electrical – Peter Duyker, GIO Insurance, Hadlow Design Service – Peter Hadlow, Jim & Christine Shaw, Chris Cooney & Phillip Harvey, David & Helen Parker, David & Marlene Simon, Brian Smith Plumbing, Paul & Jan Stubbs, Winsome First National Real Estate – Paul Cooney and talented artist, Rex Newell, who has donated a painting every year for 20 years.  Other supporters acknowledged by ACRF are Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club and The Macleay Argus Newspaper.

19th annual gala ball
A capacity crowd packed the Kempsey-MacLeay RSL Club for a night of fine food, fabulous auctions and dancing until 2am at the 19th Kempsey Cancerians Annual Ball.
The Annual Gala Ball was held on Saturday May 13, 2006.  Themed “Treasures of the Sea”, the brilliant committee transformed Kempsey-Macleay RSL Auditorium into a surreal, Neptunian fantasy with a spectacular stage backdrop and magnificent oceanic decorations.  The crowd feasted on fine food and wonderful wines until the early hours.
ACRF’s Fundraising Manager, Deborah Warner, was a special guest and made a moving speech thanking the committee and the people of the Macleay for their marvellous support of the Foundation’s research.  The Kempsey Cancerians have raised over $500,000 for the ACRF and more than $34,000 was raised from the 2006 event. Congratulations to Helen Packwood and her hard-working team.
