Canberra Cancerians
The Canberra Cancerians Committee is renowned as being one of the most successful fundraising groups for cancer research in Australia having raised more than $2 million for the ACRF. In addition, the Committee enjoys a reputation of staging the most sought after and glamorous events on the Canberra social calendar, culminating in their annual Black & White Ball at the Great Hall of Parliament House.
“In the past two years alone we have raised over $500,000 from our Black & White Ball, with sell out crowds of 640 and a waiting list,” says Immediate Past President Eric Koundouris, adding that the high profile Committee and the dedicated contribution by the individual members made the group extremely successful in attracting generous sponsorship and spectacular auction prizes.

2009 Gala Ball – South Pacific
James Service, President of the Canberra Cancerians Committee proudly unveiled the new theme for their 2009 Gala Ball which is “South Pacific” at a private cocktail party in May hosted generously by Karl-Werner Diefenbach at the magnificent Hyatt Hotel Canberra. The event once again, was an outstanding event, with an amazing ‘tropical chic’ aura. This SOLD OUT event was held at Parliament House on Saturday, the 22nd of August. Read more here.
