The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) receives no government assistance, relying on tax-deductible donations from the community, corporations and individuals to help us support the search for a cure.
This is why the fundraising efforts of our Cancerians Committees and groups like the Shell Seekers are so vitally important. And then there are individual supporters like muso Matt Frost and eight-year-olds Eleanor Rogers and Renuka Blewitt who set up a lemonade stand near their homes to raise money for cancer research. There are many reasons why our supporters choose to get involved. Many have been touched by cancer, either personally or through family and friends. Their contribution of time and energy to having fun and raising money is a truly worthwhile part of their healing. Others are keen to make a contribution to the search for improved diagnosis and treatments. Whatever their reasons, all are dedicated to finding a cure for cancer.
Cancerians Committees
Cancerians Committees organise events in their local community and provide fundraising support to help find a cure for cancer. Over the past 10 years, the total contribution from Cancerians to Australian cancer research has been over $1 million.
From gala balls to wine tasting, mother’s day luncheons to Jazz at Parliament House, these volunteer Committees are always devising new ways to make fundraising a fun social activity!

Shell Seekers
Established in 1998, the Shell Seekers are a Sydney-based group of women whose most famous fundraising effort to date has been the publication of a calendar (featuring themselves baring almost all) and a cookbook.

Corporate Supporters
Individual Supporters
There are many individuals around Australia who have helped to raise funds for cancer research. Ray Jenvey and Graham Johnson are two such people. The pair celebrated their 60th birthdays in style, raising over $5000 in donations to the ACRF in lieu of gifts.
