Home Australian Cancer Research Planning your fundraiser

Organising a fundraising event to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation is a great way to increase awareness of the foundation in your community and have fun at the same time. Fundraising events could include anything from a cake stall or a mufti day at work or school, to a grand ball or a charity auction. (See our A-Z of Fundraising Ideas for inspiration.)

When planning a fundraiser, you should brainstorm to come up with a creative idea that you think will generate interest and garner support. However, you should keep in mind that the ACRF is unable to take a coordination role in your fundraiser and therefore whatever activity you decide to undertake will be conducted in your name and is your responsibility.

The Foundation is unable to assist in soliciting prizes, organising publicity, or providing goods or services to assist you in the running of the fundraiser/event.

For more detailed information on conducting a fundraiser, please see our Fundraising Guidelines

In order to gain permission to hold a fundraiser in support of the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, we require you to first complete a Fundraising Proposal Form where you can provide details of your proposed activities. The foundation will provide you with a written sanction once approval has been given.
