Many people choose to honour departed family and friends by making a donation to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) in their memory.  You can remember loved ones at the time of the funeral - a thoughtful and meaningful way to express sympathy to the bereaved family.  Or you may like to remember someone on the anniversay of their death, or on their birthdays or at Christmas or just any time.

By creating an In-Memoriam gift to remember someone special, you are providing hope for the future through your personal contribution to cancer research.

Through funding we have better cancer research and through research we know we will find the answers. 

How to make an in-memoriam donation to the ACRF

You can make an In-Memoriam donation to the ACRF online,  or you can request attendees at the funeral of your friend or loved one to make an In-Memoriam donation at the service.

If you would like friends and family to make a donation to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation in memory of your loved one, it is a good idea to include your wishes in the notice of death.  Your funeral director will assist you with this.

Below is an example of the wording you may like to use:

“In lieu of flowers, In Memoriam donations may be made to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, GPO Box 9989 [your capital city / State / Postcode]”

i) Online or phone donations

If you choose to donate securely online, please scroll to the foot of the page and click on the "Donate" button.  Follow the instructions on the Donation Page.  If you are donating online, select "In Memoriam" from the drop down menu.  You will receive a tax deductible receipt and, if you wish, the family of the deceased will receive acknowledgement of your in memoriam gift.  If you prefer to donate by phone call us for the cost of a local call on 1300 884 988 or send us an email.  The information we will need is:

- your details (name and address) so we can send you a tax deductible receipt
- name and address of the next of kin of the person in whose memory you have made your donation so we can send a letter of acknowledgement
- the name of the person in memory of whom the donation is being made.

ii) Donations at the funeral

If you choose to collect donations at the funeral, the ACRF will provide special In-Memoriam envelopes for attendees to make their donations. Please telephone us on 1300 884 988 or email Anna on astoddart@acrf.com.au  to arrange delivery of the envelopes.

Donors in Sydney and several other city centres can contact the ACRF office to arrange for a representative of the ACRF to be in attendance at a funeral.
