The Melbourne Cancerians Committee was established in November 2002, inspired by the work and memory of the late Hon Ann Henderson. Henderson served the Victorian community as a Member of Parliament and set in motion the events that led to the formation of the Melbourne Cancerians. Since then, the Melbourne Cancerians have successfully raised over $250,000 for cancer research via various fundraising events including fashion parades, parties, a jazz afternoon, film and wine tasting evenings.

The focus of the Melbourne Cancerians is to to raise funds in a way that celebrates life. The Committee believe that when cancer can be prevented, overcome and controlled, then life can be enriched, extended and celebrated.
