The Canberra Cancerians Committee is renowned as being one of the most successful fundraising groups for cancer research in Australia having raised more than $1 million for the ACRF in the last six years. In addition, the Committee enjoys a reputation of staging the most sought after and glamorous events on the Canberra social calendar, culminating in their annual Black & White Ball at the Great Hall of Parliament House. “In the past two years alone we have raised over $500,000 from our Black & White Ball, with sell out crowds of 640 and a waiting list,” says Immwediate Past President Eric Koundouris, adding that the high profile Committee and the dedicated contribution by the individual members made the group extremely successful in attracting generous sponsorship and spectacular auction prizes.

Vale Jill Sunderland
Sadly Jill Sunderland lost her long and brave battle with lung cancer on May 15, 2007. Jill was a wonderful person, and an inspiration, who throughout her illness, worked tirelessly to raise money for cancer research with the Canberra Cancerians Committee. Jill, who leaves behind her husband Ken, six children and a new granddaughter, will be sadly missed by the many, many people who were fortunate enough to meet her and work with her during a very generous and giving life.
