These ladies work tirelessly throughout the year to support us – last year they raised over $13,000, this year they are on target to do better. From morning teas and lunches to raffles – they inject all their energy into this cause. As well as raising funds for us, they build awareness about cancer amongst senior citizens. We are so very grateful for their work – and in constant admiration of their endless supply of enthusiasm! VALE : Betty Palmer A sad loss for our Bexley North Cancerians and Australian Cancer Research Foundaton this year, with the passing of long-time President, Betty Palmer. Betty, who had been ill for some time had, nevertheless, continued to work hard to make sure all the Bexley Cancerians functions were a big success. At her funeral and memorial service her family told us that one of the great highlights of Betty's life was her visit to Westmead Millenium Foundation to see Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. The Crown Princess was interested in finding out the latest melanoma work being done by the team which had received funding from ACRF.

Busy as a Bexley Betty… The Bexley Cancerians Committee members, led by Betty Holman are Superwomen. They are grandmothers. They are volunteers. They cook, wash and clean. They care for other elderly people. And….they run events and raise money for cancer research.
