In memory donations to cancer research

Donating to cancer research in memory of a family member or friend that has passed away is a meaningful way to honour them. You can make a significant in memory contribution to cancer research in the following ways:

Next of kin, family and friends can request donations in memory at a funeral service, create an online memorial or tribute page to share memories about their loved one, or make a regular or one-off memorial gift to cancer research themselves:

Request donations in memory at a funeral service

Requesting donations in lieu of flowers at the funeral service of your loved one allows family, friends and guests to give a meaningful gift to the future of cancer research.

An effective way of letting your guests know of your wishes prior to the service is to include the following words in the funeral notice:

“In lieu of flowers, donations in memory can be made to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, PO Box 9989 (your capital city/ State/ Postcode)”

We will send a tax deductible receipt to every person who makes a donation in memory at the funeral service, and we will send you, or the nominated next of kin, a summary of everyone that has made a donation in memory.

Your funeral director can arrange to have ACRF donation envelopes and ribbons and the service, or please feel free to place an online request with us directly.

Funeral directors can connect families with ACRF

Families often aren’t aware that they can donate in memory of their loved one who has passed. If the family has been touched by cancer in particular, ACRF is able to offer them some hope through the future of cancer research.

ACRF would be very happy to assist with advising the family on how to donate in memory:

Donation envelopes and ribbons: The most common way to donate in memory is to provide donation envelopes and ACRF ribbons at the funeral service. ACRF will express post these items anywhere in Australia, on the day that you order. We can provide envelopes and ribbons on a per-service basis, or we can deliver them in bulk so you have them ready for any occasion.
