The Garvan Institute of Medical Research & St Vincent’s & Mater Health Sydney were awarded a $2.5 million grant to establish a new world-class comprehensive cancer centre – the Garvan St Vincent’s Campus Cancer Centre – on the St Vincent’s research precinct in Sydney.

The centre will support multidisciplinary teams for the holistic and ultimately improved care of patients throughout their cancer treatment and foster the highest level of collaboration between researchers and clinical investigators. The Garvan group is seen as one of the best basic breast cancer biology research groups in Australia. It has a strong commitment to translational research in breast cancer and other cancers.
