Each year leading Australian research scientists are invited to submit grant applications of between $1.5 million and $5 million.Crown Princess Mary of Denmark

To ensure that the very best cancer research is funded, all grant applications are subjected to a rigorous approval process overseen by our honorary Medical Research Advisory Committee (MRAC) chaired by Professor Ian Frazer and featuring many of Australia’s most respected scientists and researchers.

The MRAC advises the Foundation’s Board of Trustees on the allocation of grants to the very best and most innovative Australian cancer research projects.

The fight against cancer doesn’t come cheaply. The high-powered fluorescent microscopes used in current cell-based research, for example, are valued at more than $1 million, and the annual cost of treating cancer in Australia is more than $2 billion.

Every dollar is important and your donation to this Cancer Foundation can make a great difference. Help us continue to fund breakthrough cancer research.

About Cancer Research Grants
